Amber's Story
Amber Bardon is a technology executive, entrepreneur, speaker, and recognized thought leader in senior living technology. She is the founder and CEO of Parasol Alliance, a technology services company focused exclusively on senior living organizations.
Amber's path into technology wasn't traditional. She studied anthropology, lived in China teaching English, and later entered the senior living industry through an entry-level help desk role. Over nine years, she worked her way up to IT leadership at a large senior living provider, gaining experience across clinical systems, operations, training, and business applications.
In 2015, Amber founded Parasol Alliance after identifying a gap in the market: senior living organizations needed strategic technology leadership, not just technical support. The company was launched with investment from five nonprofit senior living providers, making the business provider-owned and deeply connected to the needs of the industry.
Her philosophy is that technology should be viewed as a business strategy and competitive differentiator, not just an operational necessity.
One of Amber's most consistent themes is that culture drives performance. She has repeatedly stated that her goal is to create "the happiest IT company in the world." The company operates with a highly intentional remote-first culture. This focus has earned Parasol Alliance dozens of workplace culture awards.
If there's one idea that shows up repeatedly in Amber's interviews and presentations, it's this:
Technology success is not primarily about hardware or software—it's about leadership, culture, strategy, and people embracing change.
She has become a prominent voice advocating that senior living organizations treat technology as a strategic advantage that improves resident experience, workforce efficiency, and organizational sustainability.
